Actors Manex Rekalde (“Goenkale”, Radio Euskadi’s “El Bulevar”) and Leire  Ucha (“Visonarios”, “Todos estamos invitados”, “Ander”) will host the Opening Gala of Zinegoak 2010. Once again, the festivities will take place in the fabulous Arriaga Theater. Lending an invaluable, always funny hand will be Eduardo Gaviña (aka Yogurinha Borova) and, for the first time, the Hegoak Association theater group.

During the gala, the Zinegoak 2010 Honorary Award will be presented to Wieland Speck for his contributions to the normalization of gay-lesbian-trans matters through such films as “Westler” (1985) or his work as director of the Berlinale’s Panorama section, an obligatory stop for LGBT-themed films for more than 20 years.

The gala will end with the world premiere of the Basque short film “Los Fuegos”/“Fireworks” from Daniel Cortázar and the debut in Spain for the award-winning Argentine full-length film “Plan B”, from Marco Berger, who took part in Zinegoak 2009 with his short “El reloj”/“The clock”.

Actors Manex Rekarte (“Goenkale”, Radio Euskadi’s “El Bulevar”) and Leire Ucha (“Visonarios”, “Todos estamos invitados”, “Ander”) will host Zinegoak 2010’s Closing Ceremony. For the first time, and thanks to the sponsorship of Euskaltel, the closing will be held in the magnificent setting of the Guggenheim Museum auditorium. All Zinegoak 2010 winners will be announced during the ceremony, which will take place Saturday, February 6 at 22:00.

The awards will be followed by screenings of the short film winners: Audience Award (sponsored by Euskaltel), Youth Award (awarded by the Kinema school) and “The Txistu Show” award.

Afterwards, from 23:00 to 1:00, the festivities will move to the museum’s atrium, for a party livened up by celebrity guest DJ Alaska. Ticket sales exclusively at Hegoak (Calle Dos de Mayo, 7). Access to Auditorium and Atrium: €12. Atrium only: €10. Tickets include two beers or soft drinks.
